Proposed changes to the Rowany Festival Fighter Auction Tournaments.
Each fighter will be required to provide their prize at the time of the auction.
Prizes will still be accepted from the populace.
Prizes must be donated before the auction.
Fighters who do not have a prize will have one randomly assigned from the pool of donated prizes.
The fighter will then pass the prize to their patron once payment has been made to the list officers.
Should a fighter withdraw from the tournament it is the buyers choice whether to keep the prize or return it for a refund.
There are many options for acceptable prizes including handmade goods, promissory notes, materials and offers of labour (eg: I'll pack your trailer).
It is hoped that this will reduce work for the list keepers after the tournaments as they will not need to organise the distribution of prizes. It will also mean that patrons will not need to wait around for their turn to choose their prize. It is also hoped that it will reduce stress for fighters. They will not have to worry about being knocked out early as their patron will already have the prize. It is felt that this will have minimal impact on the money raised as fighter prices do not currently reflect the value of donated prizes.
Again please note, this is a TRIAL for this year. If it doesn't work we will revert to the previous system.
