As the wheel of the year turns and the long nights of winter draw toward their end, we speak of honour, of gratitude, and of change well-earned. Leif and Elenora, steadfast guardians of Stormhold, have borne the Thornes with wisdom, strength, and generous spirit. Through feast and field, counsel and care, they have guided this Barony with sure hands and open hearts. Their watch has been a noble one. The halls have rung with laughter, the fields have seen worthy deeds, and the people of Stormhold have thrived beneath their keeping. For all this, their names shall be held in high honour, and their service remembered as a bright thread in the tapestry of our history. Yet as all good sagas tell, no season stands forever. In the month of August, while winter still lingers but the promise of spring stirs beneath the землю, the Thornes shall pass to new hands. This change comes not as an ending, but as a renewal—another chapter in the long and proud tale of Stormhold. And let it be known—though spoken with fond smiles—that Lord Angus Galloway and Noble Raw Pengwyn already stand ready (or so they claim), bracing themselves for the labours and joys that such times bring. Whether by fate, fortune, or gentle persuasion, it seems they shall not escape involvement in the days to come. May their cups be full, their spirits high, and their burdens shared with good humour. So gather, people of Stormhold, when August’s chill still grips the land. Come to honour Leif and Elenora for their noble service, and to bear witness as the Thornes are passed in dignity and celebration. Raise your voices, fill your horns, and stand together—for Stormhold endures, ever strong, ever proud. Thus is it spoken. Brunch with their Majesties. The Barony of Krae Glas invite you to share brunch with The Crown on Sunday 10 May at Dolphin's Keep. The Baron and some helpers will be cooking brunch (eggs, bacon and pancakes). Pick ups for both rapier and armoured combat. Timetable: Event starts at 10am with hall open from 9:30am. Brunch available from 10:30am. Combat training from whenever there are enough people in armour and will continue through the day. Royal Court will be at their Majesties' whim (or at 1pm). Pack down will start no later than 2.30pm with hall closing at 3pm. Price Note non-member prices include an insurance surcharge of +$10 adults and +$5 for minors. Adults: $15 member /$25 Non member Adult Student/Concession: $12 Members/$22 Non Members Minors: Under 5 free 5-12: $5 members/$10 Non member 12-17: $10 members/$15 Non members Contact Steward: Sir Jon Dai of the Lane Bookings: barony(a)kraeglas.lochac.sca.org Bookings Close: 7 May Participants are reminded that if they are unwell or showing cold or flu-like symptoms, they must not attend.
