Evening Good Gentles
A reminder that we are now less than a month away from the hunt. If you are
wishing to attend please make sure that you book so we can cater for you at
the evening feast. Bookings are scheduled to close on the 10th of June.
If you are as yet undecided, allow me to share with you (in no particular
order) the highlights of the event:
1. Foraging Challenge - help us make provision for the winter by collecting
fruits and mushrooms from the wilds around Dolphin's Keep. Foragers will be
rewarded for their bounty.
2. Defend the Farm - The beasts of the wild have made their way into our
fields and barns. Grab your bows and join the line to defend our stores and
herds against the rabbits, foxes, wolves and raiders.
3. The Hunt - With permission from Their most Gracious Majesties, the
archers shall brave the wilderness to bring back game for our feast. Our
scouts have reported rabbits, pheasants, squirrels, boar and even a crafty
deer.
Please note that as some of our targets will be mobile only combat arrows
are to be used and bows are to be no stronger than 30lbs. It you are unsure
about your bow we will have a scale at the event to test. If you are in
need of combat arrows we will be running a workshop at June Crafthall, with
components available to purchase on the day.
And for those wishing to show their crafting skills we have two Arts and
Sciences competitions:
1. Beasts of the Wilderness: something themed around the animals of the
forest, what ever form they take. This can be anything, a figurine, a piece
of embriodery, illumination, a design on a item of your choice, a poem, a
song, a story. Find your own way to honour our noble quarry.
2. Items for Hunting or Travelling: One should never go on the road or into
the wilderness unprepared. Whether it be something for wearing, carrying,
camping, or navigating, help us make sure our party is set for the journey
ahead.
The evening will then move to Dolphin's Keep hall where we will feast on
our bounty and (pending available musicians) dance to drive away the cold
of the longest night.
We hope you will join us for what promises to be a fun filled event.
